Dante The Knight
Dante Alighieri is the author of the Divine Comedy and considered by many the father of Italian language. He is often depicted with wearing a red cloth and the laurel wreath a sign of being a man of letters. But, he was more than that. He was also a politician, a patriot and a knight who took part in the Battle of Campaldino. This less known side of his story is what we took inspiration from.
The passion, resilience and fighting spirit that I AM Books displayed in coming back from the Covid lock-downs is represented in the knight and the starts are a reference to the end of Dante’s first canto “…and we came out to once again see the stars.”
